STATEMENT | That is a biased statement | Google will obviously try to promote this technology because it is a vendor of this technology. Till now self-driving cars have only been used in controlled and limited environments. There have been mishaps and accidents as well (including Tesla), and actual traffic is still too complex for a computer to navigate it successfully. The chance for a computer malfunction is pretty high and the consequences can be fatal. Self-driving cars are still in an experimental stage. It could only be a great success, if the tracks/roads for it are specially made and digitally sanitized. But then it just becomes like a train on a track. https://www.vox.com/future-perfect/2020/2/14/21063487/self-driving-cars-autonomous-vehicles-waymo-cruise-uber |
